I truly believe that the first hour of the day sets the tone for everything to come the remainder of the day. Since starting my day with this mindful and detoxifying ritual I’ve noticed a huge difference in my energy and attitude. Each day is productive and successful yet peaceful at the same time. I truly believe in integrating these detoxifying tips into your morning routine to start the day feeling your best. I truly feel happier and healthier throughout the day and am left with lots of energy!

A Detoxifying Morning Routine

Here are my simple tips to detox during your morning routine:

Hydrate with warm lemon water: Our bodies get dehydrated overnight so I always rehydrate and replenish first thing in the morning. The very first thing I do upon waking up is drink a glass of warm water with freshly squeezed lemon. This provides my body with hydrating electrolytes and assist the liver in producing more enzymes, which support digestion and encourage the liver to purge toxins.

Whip up a turmeric latte: I’ve been making this turmeric latte every morning and it’s my new obsession! The turmeric fights inflammation and the collagen will improve your hair, skin and nails.

Stretch & twist: After sipping on my warm lemon water and my turmeric latte I get some stretching in. I always feel a million times better after some light stretching. I also focus on twisting yoga poses because twists help to stimulate digestion. I also take deep calming breaths to detox my body of any stress.

Dry-brush before the shower:  Before showering I dry-brush my entire body. This takes less than a minute and greatly benefits my well-being. I brush my skin from head to toe (always do motions leading towards the heart) with a soft-bristle body brush. This rids my skin of old cells and unclogs pores. It also stimulates the circulation beneath your skin.

Take a probiotic before breakfast:  Taking a daily probiotic will improve your digestive function. Probiotics are good bacteria that keep your digestive system running smoothly – they have truly improved my digestive health so much!
