Hi! I’m so glad you stopped by. I’m Leah, a 34-year-old that lives in South Florida with my husband and two daughters.
I’m a mother first (and a wife too, hi Josh!) but my other “baby” is this blog. I started Leah’s Plate in 2015 because I found that when I ate healthy, real food, I felt so much better—and I wanted to share that passion and learning with the world. When I became a mother, making sure my girls ate healthy, real food became a priority for me, so sharing kid-friendly healthy foods (and other wellness-focused aspects of motherhood) is a focus of mine as well.
I enjoy sharing simple, nutritious meals made with wholesome ingredients that don’t take a lot of time to make. There’s nothing I dislike more than seeing an intimidating long ingredient list, so all of my recipes require just a few clean and simple ingredients and recipes that won’t have you standing in your kitchen all day. I’m all about keeping healthy eating uncomplicated. Therefore, all of my recipes are quick and simple.
My goal is to help people realize that eating healthy doesn’t have to be complicated for you or your kids. I’m a busy mom who doesn’t have hours to spend in the kitchen — and I know you’re busy too! I want people to know they, too, can live a busy lifestyle without sacrificing health—and that they can make that happen for their family, too. I also love proving that healthy can be delicious!
Aside from cooking, I also love fitness; especially yoga, kickboxing and weight training. Yoga definitely keeps me grounded and calms my body and mind in a whole new way.
I’m also passionate about clean beauty products and non-toxic household products, so you’ll also find tidbits of this on my site as well. I guess I can say I have an overall passion for health and wellness! I truly believe that when you’re healthy in ALL aspects of life (food, fitness, non-toxic living) is when you’ll feel your best mentally and physically.
I’m currently enrolled at IIN (Institute of Integrative Nutrition), so by August 2021 I’ll be a certified nutrition consultant.
