Ingredients needed for this mocha cold brew smoothie bowl:

  • almond milk (I love Elmhurst since it’s made with just almonds and water)
  • cold brew (I love Califia Farms)
  • cacao powder (I use raw cacao powder, but cocoa powder would work as well)
  • almond butter (can use cashew butter or coconut butter instead). almond butter is packed with healthy fat and protein.
  • banana (make sure to cut and freeze your ripe bananas). Frozen banana is the best way to naturally sweeten a smoothie. The frozen banana will make the smoothie bowl nice and thick and creamy.

How to make this mocha cold brew smoothie bowl:

This is too simple! You add the ingredients listed above to a blender (exact measurements in the recipe below) in the order listed. Make sure you add the liquid first and the frozen banana last. Blend until smooth and creamy.  You may need to scrape down the sides a few times. Then pour into a bowl and enjoy.

Suggested toppings for this smoothie bowl:

  • a drizzle of creamy almond butter or peanut butter
  • cacao nibs (love the crunch that they add)
  • sliced banana
  • hemp seeds (packed with plant-based protein)
  • shredded coconut flakes

I recently found out that my local Publix was having a Plant-Based promotion going on, so I decided to head there to pick up all of the ingredients needed for this recipe. SO many of my favorite plant-based products are currently on sale at Publix, so it’s a great time to check it out and stock up on your plant-based favorites.

For example, Elmhurst Unsweetened Plant-Based Milks (found in the refrigerated aisle) are currently on sale for $4.49. I love all of their milks because they’re made with such clean and minimal ingredients. I decided to grab the almond milk for this smoothie bowl, but also purchased the cashew milk and walnut milk. I go through plant-based milks SO quickly at my house!

I also purchased Califia Farms Cold Brew. I love using cold brew to make iced coffee mixed with a little plant-based creamer. Having already brewed coffee ready in the fridge makes for an easy and uncomplicated morning because I don’t even have to make my own coffee. Califia Farms products are also on sale at Publix during the plant-based promotion, which is a great deal, so if you love cold brew you should run and stock up now!

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup Elmhurst almond milk
  • 1/4 cup Califia Farms Concentrated Cold Brew Black Coffee
  • 1 tbsp cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp almond butter
  • 2 frozen bananas

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients in the order listed to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy (you made need to scrape down the edges a few times).
  2. Pour into a bowl and top with desired toppings (I suggest banana, cacao nibs and almond butter). Enjoy!
