As I sit here on my flight home from Austin I realized that this was my third time in this amazing little city. Every time I go I like it more and more. I love discovering new places each time I travel to Austin as well as returning to my favorites. Below are a list of my favorite healthy spots I’ve tried and love in Austin + where to find matcha, smoothie bowls, CBD, adaptogenic lattes, yoga and more!

FOOD:

Picnik – Every time I go to Austin this is the one place that I always must return to. All of the ingredients used to prepare the food are super clean (everything is cooked in avocado oil – love that). Also, their list of lattes is pretty impressive (my personal favorite is the golden milk matcha). I also love that they use Siete tortillas! The caramelized banana pancakes (made with cassava flour) are to die for if you’re looking for a sweet breakfast option. Don’t leave without getting a blondie for dessert (or take it to-go for later)!

Juice Society – The cutest juice and smoothie café! I’m obsessed with the decor! They have a ‘create your own superfood latte’ menu which is pretty genius! I recommend adding some CBD into your smoothie or latte and then go have a chill day.

Flower Child – I’m obsessed with everything on the menu. It’s the perfect place to grab a quick bite (order at the counter) or take your food to go and enjoy it in a park (I also love getting it to go before the airport for some healthy plane food).

Pacha Café – Everything is organic and all of the ingredients are high quality. It’s also delicious! I recommend coming for breakfast!

Juiceland – Incredible juice and smoothie menu and easily customizable.

Manana Coffee – A cute little spot that is perfect for grabbing a coffee. Their baked goods are also freshly made and all delicious.

Below are a few places that are not known for being ‘healthy’ but I heard are incredible and have some healthy options on the menu. I have not been to any of these, but they’re on my list to check out next time I’m in town: Josephine House, Emmer & Rye, Justine’s and Red Ash.

Breakfast at Picnik

SWEET TOOTH:

Sweet Ritual Ice Cream – A vegan ice cream spot (no dairy or egg) serving a delicious scoop and you can choose from a base of coconut milk, almond butter, cashew butter, peanut butter, etc. as your base. They use Enjoy Life chocolate chips which are also free of common allergens!

Lick Ice Cream – They use the purest ingredients in their artisanal ice creams. They never use artificial colors or flavors, high fructose corn syrup or preservatives, which makes me a happy customer! They also have some yummy dairy-free and vegan options!

Spun Ice Cream – The flavors and toppings change seasonally. They use local and organic ingredients as often as possible, which include organic spices and fair trade chocolate. All of their ice cream bases are made in-house with fresh milk and cream (from Texan cows free of antibiotics, hormones, GMOs, corn and soy). I love the fact that they don’t add any emulsifiers, preservatives or stabilizers to their ice creams. They also have some dairy-free and vegan options!

FITNESS:

Soul Cycle – They’re all over the country, but a great place to get your sweat in. I always leave a Soul Cycle classing feeling MENTALLY lighter as well 🙂 Such a great way to start the day!

Modo Yoga – A great studio to get your flow on 🙂

Breath & Body Yoga: Across the street from Picnik. I recommend taking an early yoga class followed by breakfast at Picnik! I seriously couldn’t think of a better morning!

MUST GO:

The original Whole Foods is in Austin and if you’re a health nut like me you’ll definitely want to check it out! I also recommend spending a day Zilker Park, hanging out at Barton Springs, and strolling the streets of South Congress Ave and 2nd Street District.
