Hey babes! I can’t believe it’s already AUGUST!! Seriously – were is time going?! I thought it would be fun to let you know more about me – the person behind this blog. I’m always posting about food, health and recipes, so I thought it would be fun to do an informal post to help you get to know a little more about me 🙂
Let’s get to it:
I used to absolutely dread Mondays! It meant the weekend was over and there were still 5 dreaded week days until the weekend. In my mind, there was really nothing about Monday to look forward to. However, I’ve been absolutely OBSESSED with this season of The Bachelorette. It actually makes me look forward to Mondays! Let’s not even discuss the depression that’s going to sink in once this season comes to an end tonight. Are there any other shows any of you can recommend that are aired on Monday nights?
Okay so let me tell you about my Bachelorette ritual… I feed my daughter her dinner, give her a bath and put her to bed – then high-five my husband because it’s now 8pm and we have the rest of the night to ourselves. We then open a bottle of Rainstorm Wine. I’m not a big drinker at all, in fact I rarely drink any alcohol and if I do it’s usually just a glass of wine. I used to only have that glass of wine on the weekend, but seriously – what goes better with watching The Bachelorette than a good glass of wine?! I truly believe in living a balanced lifestyle. I eat wholesome healthy food 99% of the time, so I definitely believe in treating myself to an occasional glass of wine and that piece of dark chocolate.
Now about this wine – it’s not just any wine. I was recently introduced to Rainstorm Wines and was instantly hooked on both their pinot noir and pinot noir rose. The pinot noir is fruity, soft and elegant. The pinot noir rose is completely dry with aromas of strawberry, rose petals and pomegranate. I’ve been wine-tasting in New Zealand and this tops any wine I tasted there. The wine is from the Williamette Valley and Umpqua Valley in Oregon, which is known to product spectacular pinots.
Back to my night… I bring my glass of wine (and some dark chocolate of course) to the couch and settle in and get excited to watch The Bachelorette. My husband then makes fun of me for watching “such a silly show” (while I defend the show). I insist he have a glass of wine with me and join me on the couch. He then pretends he isn’t going to watch the show and 5 minutes later he’s just as hooked as I am. We make a toast with our glasses of wine to spending a great night together. I then realize Mondays aren’t so bad after all 🙂
