#CoffeeAddict

March 26, 2020 by Leah Goldglantz

coffeeaddict 1024x683 - #CoffeeAddict

The title of this blog post is meant to be funny – I’m not really addicted to coffee, but CERTAINLY love a freshly brewed cup of coffee every morning. I literally get excited to wake up to my hot cup of coffee. I love coffee so much that I wanted to dedicate an entire blog post to COFFEE 🙂 I often get asked questions about my coffee so I’ll answer them all below. I hope this is helpful!! Feel free to leave a comment on this post with any other questions you may have!

How many cups of coffee per day do you have?: 1 cup – in the morning

Do you drink coffee before or after the gym? I know you workout early in the morning: I literally hit ‘brew’ on my coffee machine immediately after getting out of bed lol. I get ready for the gym (or now with COVID-19 my at-home workout) and by the time I’m dressed and ready my coffee is ready. I slowly sip my coffee while browsing the web for about 20 minutes and then go workout. I look forward to the peace and silence by myself every morning to enjoy my cup of coffee while the rest of the house is still asleep. It’s definitely one of the highlights of my day.

What is your go-to coffee to buy?: I recently discovered Purity Organic Coffee and now I order it online and have the convenience of it being shipped directly to my doorstep. This is SO convenient right now during COVID-19 times. I love Purity Organic Coffee because it’s specifically crafted for your health. Their coffee pulls out more antioxidants than any other organic coffee brand, because of their intense sourcing and roasting processes. They select only the highest-grade organic green coffee beans then laboratory test them to make sure they meet their standards. Purity customizes their roasts for each lot of green coffee to make sure it contains minimum toxins and maximum health benefits. They source sustainable coffee and make sure there is never mold!! It also tastes amazing!

What kind of coffee machine do you use to brew your coffee?: I have this machine from Cuisinart and really love it!

How do you enjoy your coffee?: To be honest I usually just prefer straight up black coffee! However, occasionally on the weekend I’ll enjoy a bulletproof coffee or my coffee with MALK unsweetened oat + almond milk creamer in it – it’s definitely the cleanest creamer I’ve found! If I know I’m not eating breakfast until a bit later I may also add some MCT oil and collagen peptides in my coffee to help keep me feeling satisfied until breakfast.

Creamy chia pudding with all the toppings - love t Creamy chia pudding with all the toppings - love this for a satisfying breakfast! Chia seeds are packed with fiber and most of us don’t get enough fiber in our diets...

To make the chia pudding: in a blender add 1 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup chia seeds & 1/2 ripe banana (the banana is optional, but I love that it naturally sweetens it & makes it nice and creamy. Blend then pour into a jar and refrigerate overnight (or for at least an hour). Add desired toppings. I love fresh berries, grain-free granola & hemp seeds. Love some almond butter drizzled on top too!

I remember about two years ago I had a cough that I remember about two years ago I had a cough that was lingering so I went to a doctor that I had never been to before just to get checked out and make sure everything was okay. The doctor spent under 5 minutes with me, barely checked me out and almost immediately wrote me a prescription for an antibiotic. I was questioning why I was taking an antibiotic and he didn’t really take the time to explain and rushed off to another patient. I trusted my gut instinct that I didn’t need an antibiotic (I am definitely open to taking them was necessary), and 5 days later my cough went away on its own. I could dive deeper into this, but wanted to share that I am so glad I have found a doctor that spends adequate time with me - whenever I need - for as long as I need. You deserve that!! We all deserve that.

I’m so lucky to be in such great hands with @steadymd - they’re an online doctor that’s available via an app on your phone and you can reach out with anything anytime! I spent over an hour last week on the phone with my functional MD going over bloodwork. All of my questions were thoroughly answered. A functional MD is the best fit for ME (my doc takes a whole person approach to health & understands things like training, recovery & nutrition), but whats so great is SteadyMD matches you with a doctor that aligns with YOU and your specific medical needs, diet, lifestyle and goals, not just someone who's local based on a quick quiz you take!

SteadyMD is so convenient and refreshing and is EXACTLY what I've been looking for in a doctor. Plus it's super convenient - No co-pays. No waiting rooms. Just unlimited access to a doctor who “gets” you.

Click the link in my bio or visit steadymd.com/leahsplate to get started.

Thank you so much to SteadyMD for partnering on this post! I’m so grateful to partner with a company I believe in so much 🤍
Peanut butter & banana French toast roll ups!!! De Peanut butter & banana French toast roll ups!!! Def a big hit w the girls!!

First cut the crust off the bread (I used sprouted organic whole wheat) and then flatten with a rolling pin. Spread a layer of peanut butter over the bread, followed by thinly sliced banana (the banana just covering 1/4 of the bread), then roll up. Dip the entire rollup in egg & almond milk mixture (1 egg, 2 tbsp almond milk, cinnamon & 1/2 tsp vanilla extract). Cook on a frying pan over medium heat in coconut oil (or grass-fed butter). I heat up the frying pan a few min before placing the rollup on it. Cook for 2 - 3 min on each side. Drizzle some peanut butter on top & ENJOY!

It’s a beautifullllll day here in South Florida, so planning to spend the rest of the day outside w the girls & Josh. Putting my phone away & being present in what’s REALLY important (which is the people you’re spending time with in REAL life), not scrolling mindlessly on social media - something I’m really working on! 🤍
